My name is Deb and I’m a native Oregonian and living in Portland, with my husband Terry, a calico cat named Fiona and the best little dog in the world, Miss Emmeline “Emma,” the miniature American Eskimo Dog. We go camping in the summer, visit brewpubs year round, and work hard at our jobs. I work in Community Relations for a not-for-profit company and have worked in some form of communications/advertising/ marketing for 28 years. And I love to cook — mostly healthier food that is flavorful and tasty. Sometimes I make up my own recipes, but typically I take someone else’s recipe and go from there. This blog is about telling stories from my misadventures and concoctions in my little square kitchen. It is dedicated to my work team — Alison, Celicia and Samantha — who faithfully listen to my cooking stories; and to my mom who among other things taught me to peel garlic and boil potatoes.
